Important note: Replacement of this flashtube can be quite tricky, since several specific tools are required to open the flash head with no risk for the flash gear or the operator. This flashtube should be changed only by trained repair shops. Self-replacement is strictly not recommended and comes with a risk of electric shocks. Replacement is part of the package when purchasing this product.

This item is made by Phoxene, and is not an original flashtube made by Profoto.

How do I know whether my flash tube needs replacing?

A flash tube can deteriorate with use. Possible signs include:

Reduced light output under otherwise unchanged conditions.
Noticeable changes in colour.
Inconsistent exposure or colour at the same settings, despite allowing full recycling.
Repeated misfires or failure to flash.
Cracked or broken tube glass.

Darkening or marks can develop with use, but appearance alone does not establish that a tube needs replacing.

Misfires and failure to fire can also result from trigger settings, radio interference, sync connections, insufficient recycling time, overheating protection, power problems or internal electronic faults.

Check your equipment’s troubleshooting guidance before ordering. Contact AJ’s if you need help identifying the correct replacement or deciding whether servicing is required.

How long should this replacement flash tube last?

There is no single lifespan that applies to every flash tube. Service life depends on the tube design, flash energy, shooting frequency, operating temperature and handling.

Where Phoxene provides a rated lifespan for a particular tube, we will include it in the product specifications with any relevant conditions. A flash count should not be treated as a guaranteed service life.

What warranty and after-sales support do I receive from AJ’s?

If you experience a problem with a Phoxene tube or dome purchased from AJ’s, contact us with your order number, equipment model and a description of the fault. We will help check compatibility and arrange assessment with Phoxene where necessary. Any warranty against manufacturing defects is separate from Phoxene’s conditional 30-day satisfaction programme. That programme requires, amongst other conditions, that the item remains functional, unbroken and without traces of use; it is not an unrestricted refund for any fault or problem.

Please contact AJ’s before purchase to confirm whether the programme applies to your order and what defect cover is available. Phoxene replacements are not covered by Profoto or Broncolor’s manufacturer warranties. Equipment manufacturers may also exclude faults or damage caused by third-party parts. If your equipment is still under warranty, check its terms before fitting a compatible replacement. Contact us before returning an item so we can explain the appropriate next steps. Your applicable statutory rights are unaffected.
