Profoto RFi stands for Recessed Front Improved.

This refers to the diffusers being recessed in the front of their softboxes for better light control. The improvement from its predecessor the RF is a deeper shape that directs more light to the front rather than the sides. Profoto RFi Softboxes come in various shapes and sizes to provide the most light shaping control.

RFi Speedring
To mount the RFi softbox you will need an RFi Speedring. Profoto make an assortment of RFi Speedring adapters makes the RFi Softboxes compatible with all major flash brands.

Product Use
RFi Softboxes are more heat resistant series and mainly made for Profoto mains operated flashes and heads with halogen modelling light, such as the D-series and Pro-series ProHeads  .

They can also be used with Profoto battery operated monolights; B1-series and B10-series ,but we do not recommend to use larger light modifers than 4 feet/120 cm due to weight issues.
