FAQ

Q: Why does the battery charge level meter only show 4 out of 5 LEDs when the battery is fully charged?

A: The battery gauge is uncalibrated.

Q: How can this be resolved?

A: Fully discharge the battery until empty, then recharge it to 100%. This will recalibrate the battery gauge and restore correct LED indication.

Q: Will this battery work on my other Profoto flash heads, like the B1 series, or B10 series?

A: This battery has been designed specifically for the Pro-B3 series of flash heads.

Q: Can the Pro-B3 battery be carried on a plane as hand hold luggage?

A: Because the battery is rated less than 100Wh (80.7 Wh) these batteries can be carried by passenger or crew. Full information can be found by checking the Air travel with Li-Ion battery for Pro B3 PDF which is found below on this page.

Please note that the battery calibration was fine-tuned in production shortly after launch, all newly produced Profoto Pro-B3 batteries should not exhibit this behavior.

There is nothing wrong with the batteries themselves (on affected units), the issue is purely calibration-related and will be resolved by following the steps above.
