Replacement Warning

When should I replace my flash head’s protective glass dome?

Replace a dome that is cracked, chipped or broken. If it is loose or no longer secured properly, stop using the head and have the dome and retaining mechanism checked.

Replacement may also be appropriate if deterioration of the glass or coating affects light transmission or colour. A deliberately frosted finish is normal and should not be mistaken for damage.

Always use the correct dome specification for your head and tube. A sound, suitable dome does not automatically need replacing when you change the flash tube, and replacing a dome will not normally resolve misfires.

What warranty and after-sales support do I receive from AJ’s?

If you experience a problem with a Phoxene tube or dome purchased from AJ’s, contact us with your order number, equipment model and a description of the fault. We will help check compatibility and arrange assessment with Phoxene where necessary. Any warranty against manufacturing defects is separate from Phoxene’s conditional 30-day satisfaction programme. That programme requires, amongst other conditions, that the item remains functional, unbroken and without traces of use; it is not an unrestricted refund for any fault or problem.

Please contact AJ’s before purchase to confirm whether the programme applies to your order and what defect cover is available. Phoxene replacements are not covered by Profoto or Broncolor’s manufacturer warranties. Equipment manufacturers may also exclude faults or damage caused by third-party parts. If your equipment is still under warranty, check its terms before fitting a compatible replacement. Contact us before returning an item so we can explain the appropriate next steps.
